I was excited to receive these face paints. I got them one day this past week and by the weekend was putting them to use painting faces. I went to my son's house and had four kids starting out and then another one came. I painted their faces, they painted mine and they painted each others faces. They went through quite a bit of paint needless to say. There are 12 professional grade colors of face paint (one glitter) and two different type face paint brushes. I also had a couple of makeup sponges myself that I used to assist with the face painting.
I was a purple monster with orange dots and then a bulls eye. Then I made one of the kids a "kitty cat", one a ninja turtle and one was iron man. Plus we did a clown and a mixed monster. We played for hours. To use you just dip your brush in water and then make the paint the consistency you want. For brighter colors I used very little, to no water. The bigger bristle brush I used for the foundation of the paint, the smaller brush was for outlining your work. There is silver glitter to add to your creations and give a little sparkle.
These paints are safe on the skin, however, some of the colors do have high pigment density and may slightly stain the skin, but it will come off after no more than a couple washes. It should not be applied to irritated, cracked or broken skin as it may cause infection. Most colors wash off easily with a little soap and water, if they don't completely come off the first time, all that will be left is just a faint to no color at all.
Today I got the paints back out for another day of fun. Seems ninja turtles are very popular right now, as that is what my granddaughter and then her cousin wanted me to paint on their faces. Once again, the day was great as we painted faces and played pretend "Ninja Turtles". Yes I do believe I am the coolest mamaw on the block. We will continue to enjoy these paints for the entire summer. We have two birthday parties coming up soon and I am sure I will be painting faces. Oh what fun this summer will be.
